Jorge Sanz and Prince of the Pampas Win the Training Jumper Division Sponsored By The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center at ESP Year End Award Show
Wellington, FL (December 8, 2009) – Jorge Sanz and a four-year-old Thoroughbred named Prince of the Pampas won the Training Jumper division at the Equestrian Sport Productions Year End Awards Show. Sanz, a former Grand Prix rider in Argentina, rode the young horse to the championship in the division sponsored by The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center in Ocala.
“Prince of the Pampas raced until he was a three-year-old,” said Constanza Sanz, Jorge’s wife. “Jorge thinks he is a great horse and says anything he asks of him he does willingly. He is a very intelligent horse with a great head.”
Sanz, who keeps his horses at Linda Elie’s farm in Wellington, hopes to move the young Thoroughbred up through the jumping divisions during the season. “Jorge has lived in the United States for 10 years but he spent all of his life riding in Argentina,” Constanza said, adding that they were pleased to win a division sponsored by The Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center, located on 30 pristine acres in Ocala, Florida, is a world-class, multi-million dollar facility dedicated to the healing, conditioning and well being of all equine athletes. “The Sanctuary features some of the most advanced conditioning and rehab equipment in the world,” said Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of The Sanctuary. “Jumpers such as Prince of the Pampas compete in a very physically demanding sport. The Sanctuary works hard to help riders keep their horses competing at their peak, especially when competing.”
Thanks to their advanced conditioning and rehab equipment, The Sanctuary has the capability of helping equine athletes stay fit, avoid injury, and recover faster and more completely from certain injuries they might experience when competing in intense and physically demanding sports. The Sanctuary is home to an Equine Hyperbaric Chamber with box stall type freedom of movement, as well as an Aqua Pacer Water Treadmill, the safest, most effective water treadmill available.
The Sanctuary also features: a Cold Saltwater Leg Spa featuring 34 degree, highly salinated water for all types of leg therapy; an Equine Swimming Pool – a 110 foot long, 14 foot deep inline pool with therapeutic water; a 5/8 mile race track; two Eurocisers with therapeutic tracking surface - one under cover and one outdoors; Solariums; Temperature-controlled veterinary inspection area with semi-surgical lighting, and rubberized surfaces in most areas.
